Shaw Theatres opened its doors to the public on December 18, 2014, at The Seletar Mall, with eight screens showcasing the December blockbuster release,The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Mr. Mark Shaw, Executive Vice President of Operations, introduced the cinema as the first in their boutique neighborhood cinemas concept. The cinema provides the same top-quality customer experience as their larger venues, with wall-to-wall screens, Dolby 7.1 Digital Surround Sound, luxury Figuer seats, and ample legroom. Additionally, it is their first boothless cineplex featuring top-in-class Christie Solaria One+projectors, ACT Digital Cinema Control systems, and RealD 3D systems.Cinema remains the best way for people of all ages to enjoy movies in the way that filmmakers intended.
