Located on the rooftop of a shopping mall in Serangoon, the library has long been a familiar hangout spot in the community.Serangoon Public Library (SRPL) was officially opened on 11 March 2011. Located on the rooftop (Level 4R) of nex – a major retail hub in the northeastern part of Singapore – SRPL is easily accessible to commuters passing through Serangoon's transport epicentre, which consists of the Serangoon Bus Interchange and the Serangoon MRT Station. Our library is the first public library in Singapore to be located on a rooftop. From the top of the nex shopping mall, library visitors can catch a scenic view of the neighbourhood in the evening.
