Since its founding in 1780, Parisian jeweller CHAUMET has been deeply rooted in the royal history of France. The founder, Marie-Etienne Nitot, began as a court jeweller to Napoleon Bonaparte, the French military leader and emperor. Recognising the jeweller's exceptional craftsmanship, Napoleon bestowed upon Nitot the prestigious task of creating tiaras for his empresses. This marked the beginning of CHAUMET's journey as the official jeweller to the court, a role that would see the Maison create exquisite pieces for numerous noble names and royalty throughout French history. One individual who significantly influenced the spirit of CHAUMET was Empress Josephine. Known for her femininity and independence, she played a pivotal role in shaping the Maison's identity. The elegance and allure of Josephine's taste continue to inspire CHAUMET to this day. For over 235 years, CHAUMET has upheld the timeless tradition of High Jewellery savoir-faire.
